There’s just over two months until the 2017 MLB First-Year Player Draft gets underway on June 12 and uncertainty remains at the top of the draft.

The MLB Draft is unpredictable and always changing. But, here’s how I see the first-round of the MLB Draft playing out:

1. Minnesota Twins: Brendan McKay, LHP/1B, Louisville
2. Cincinnati Reds: Jeren Kendall, OF, Vanderbilt
3. San Diego Padres: Hunter Greene, RHP, Notre Dame HS (Calif.)
4. Tampa Bay Rays: J.B. Bukauskas, RHP, North Carolina
5. Atlanta Braves: Jordon Adell, OF, Ballard HS (Ky.)
6. Oakland Athletics: Alex Faedo, RHP, Florida
7. Arizona Diamondbacks: Royce Lewis, SS/OF, JSerra Catholic HS (Calif.)
8. Philadelphia Phillies: Kyle Wright, RHP, Vanderbilt
9. Milwaukee Brewers: Tanner Houck, RHP, Missouri
10. Los Angeles Angels: D.L. Hall, LHP, Valdosta HS (Ga.)
11. Chicago White Sox: Seth Romero, LHP, Houston
12. Pittsburgh Pirates: MacKenzie Gore, LHP, Whiteville HS (N.C.)
13. Miami Marlins: Austin Beck, OF, North Davidson HS (N.C.)

First-Round Compensation Notes
• The Colorado Rockies forfeit their first-round pick (No. 11) after singing Ian Desmond.
• The St. Louis Cardinals forfeit their first-round pick (No. 19) after signing Dexter Fowler.
• The Cleveland Indians forfeit their first-round pick (No. 25) after signing Edwin Encarnacion.
* – No. 28 overall pick is compensation for losing Edwin Encarnacion in free agency.
* – No. 29 overall pick is compensation for losing Ian Desmond in free agency.
* – No. 30 overall pick is compensation for losing Dexter Fowler in free agency.

    Have either Brent Rooker or Luke Heimlich put their names in the first round discussion with their strong performances early on?

      As of now, the highest they will go is the second-round. A lot could change, however, between now and June 12. Thank you for reading!
