Packers vs. Chargers: Preview, Prediction

Chiefs Packers Broncos Chargers

It’s a new era in Green Bay, and that has come with some challenges. The Packers have lost five of their last six games and are coming off a 23-19 road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On Sunday, the Packers (3-6) face the underperforming Los Angeles Chargers (4-5) at Lambeau Field.

The Packers have struggled against the AFC this year, as they are 0-2 against the AFC West and 0-3 overall against the AFC. Can they knock off a talented Chargers team desperate for a win?

The Chargers boast the No. 7 ranked scoring offense headlined by quarterback Justin Herbert, running back Austin Ekeler and receiver Keenan Allen. They have scored at least 27 points in three straight games and six of nine this season.

On the other side, Packers QB Jordan Love has flashed potential despite an underwhelming offensive line and a lack of skilled position players around him. The Packers offense hasn’t lived up to its potential for many reasons and hasn’t scored more than 20 points since Week 2 in Atlanta.

The Chargers are inconsistent, and you never know what you will get from them week to week. They have an offense that consistently underperforms and a defense capable of creating havoc on opposing offenses with its multiple high-level pass rushers.

The Packers will need to play a clean game on offense and force multiple turnovers defensively to have a shot at claiming a victory. Is it possible? Sure, but don’t expect it to happen.

Prediction: Chargers 31, Packers 17
