Preparing for the two-month tennis season
- Updated: October 6, 2019
The fall is a time for school to begin and sport seasons to get underway. High school girls tennis begins in early August with teams flooded with girls of a wide range of abilities. For two months, girls hit competitively and working on strategy at the junior varsity and varsity levels. The beginning of October symbolizes the start of sub-sectionals for the varsity level. From there, girls who play at sub-sectionals well advance and compete at the sectional and state levels. For many though, players begin to look forward to the following season. The off-season is the time to focus and train while improving skills in the hope of perfecting them.
