Packers vs. Panthers: Preview, Prediction

Packers 49ers Texans Dolphins Vikings Bears Packers Cowboys Packers Panthers

The Packers return home Sunday to face the Carolina Panthers in a matchup that, on paper, heavily favors Green Bay. Still, the Packers have learned not to take anyone lightly after some early-season struggles against teams they were expected to beat.

At 4-4, the Panthers are a 13½-point underdog and expected to get quarterback Bryce Young back from an ankle injury. That’s a boost for Carolina, but it’s hard to see them keeping up if Green Bay’s offense continues trending upward.

Jordan Love has looked increasingly comfortable running Matt LaFleur’s offense over the past few weeks. His decision-making has improved, he’s spreading the ball around more effectively, and the chemistry with his young receivers seems to be growing. If Love stays patient and the offensive line gives him time, Green Bay should move the ball consistently against a Panthers defense that has struggled to stop the run and generate pressure.

Defensively, the Packers have done a good job creating turnovers and limiting big plays, which should serve them well against a Carolina team that has been inconsistent on offense.

This feels like another step forward for Love and the Packers as they build momentum heading into a big matchup with Philadelphia.

Prediction: Packers 30, Panthers 17
