Badgers are coming to town
- Updated: October 21, 2013
Time to get back to the grind. After being off for a week, the Milwaukee Panthers (10-2-1) will return to action this Wednesday night against in-state rival, Wisconsin (9-3-1) at Engelmann Stadium.
Both teams have had a great season so far, but they will be looking to return to their winning ways after recording conference losses in their previous game. The Panthers lost on the road to UIC, while the Badgers lost in Ann Arbor to Michigan.
Overall, the Badgers have had another solid season. In their 13 games, they have scored two goals per game, while allowing about one goal per game.
The Badgers offense has done a good job distributing the ball, with four players having at least three goals, but senior midfielder/forward, Nick Janus, is their biggest threat. He has 16 points on seven goals and two assist, while leading the team in shots with 33.
Although the Badgers have done a good job only allowing a little more than one goal a game, they have struggled at times allowing at least two goals a game seven times. This could definitely play into the Panthers favor, as they are a very difficult offense to stop, and are due for a breakout performance, after only scoring two goals in the last three games.
The Panthers do have the advantage playing at home and having a week to prepare for this game, but this game could go either way, as both teams know what it takes to knock of a tough opponent. While last season, the score was only 1-0 with the Panthers winning in Madison; expect this game to be a higher scoring matchup with two outstanding offenses squaring off.
It will be an electrifying environment at Engelmann Stadium on Wednesday night as the Wisconsin Badgers take on the Milwaukee Panthers. With both teams having a successful season, this will be one of the better matchups between these two schools in recent years.
