Yankees’ Pineda ejected for pine tar on neck

Fans known that when the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees play that it will be an extremely competitive series.  It is so competitive that you will even see players cheat to beat their division rival. Yankees starter Michael Pineda, who appeared to have pine tar on his hand the last time these two teams square off, was ejected in the second inning of Wednesday night’s game with pine tar on his neck.

Red Sox’s manager John Farrell asked the home plate umpire Gerry Davis to go out to the mound and check Pineda to see if he was using an illegal substance. Davis checked the ball, his glove and then his neck – immediately ejecting him after wiping his neck.

Update: Pineda has been suspended for 10 games by Major League Baseball for having a foreign substance on his neck.
