Sabathia returns to Miller Park

Every Milwaukee Brewer fan knows where they were the day CC Sabathia was acquired from the Cleveland Indians.  This was a blockbuster trade for Doug Melvin and Co., as they landed one of the premier lefties in the game.

This move changed the franchise, as Sabathia led the Brewers to their first playoff birth in 26 years.  Sabathia may have only worn a Brewers uniform for three months, but in that time he became a huge fan favorite.

After being traded to the Brewers, Sabathia went 11-2 with a 1.65 ERA and a league leading seven complete games.  In his final three starts, Sabathia put the team on his back pitching on three days’ rest, allowing a minuscule 0.83 ERA.

The magical run came to an end unfortunately as the Brewers fell to eventual World Series winners, the Philadelphia Phillies, in four games.

Sabathia would move on that offseason accepting a mega deal from the New York Yankees.  He led them to the World Series title in his first season in pinstripes, as he has had an overall solid career with the Yanks.

After his amazing run with the Crew, Sabathia has never been back to Miller Park until now.  Listen to what Sabathia had to say about his time in Milwaukee, while discussing his season so far prior to the start of the Brewers, Yankees three-game series.
