It came down to the wire but the Milwaukee Panthers suffered a defeat against Green Bay in their last outing, and now they will try to rebound as they take on the University of Illinois at Chicago.

This game will begin their three game road trip, as they head to Chicago to try to continue their success against the Flames. The Panthers hold the all-time series lead at 25-21, while also winning 11 of the last 12 meetings between these two programs.

So far this season the Flames have struggled as they have only won five games against below average competition. UIC nearly won their last game at Wright State but fell 58-53 to extend their losing streak to six games.

The Flames’ offense is scoring nearly 70 points per game while shooting 43.6 percent from the field, but their defense has struggled allowing 74 points per game on 47 percent shooting to their opponents.

One player the Panthers will need to keep their eyes on is senior guard Kelsey Barlow. The Purdue transfer has put together a nice season so far averaging 16.8 points on 41.2 percent shooting per game, while leading the Flames in assists and steals and recording the second most rebounds on the team.

He will be joined in the starting lineup by guards Jay Parker and Marc Brown, and forwards Jordan Harks and Hayden Humes.

Milwaukee will counter with their usual lineup featuring guards Steve McWhorter and Jordan Aaron, and forwards Austin Arians, Matt Tiby and Kyle Kelm.

Both teams are coming off tough, close losses, and this could cause this game to be a great matchup as each team tries to get back to winning ways.  Whenever these two teams square off it always seems to be a close, competitive game, and expect this time around to be no different.
