Packers vs. Vikings: Preview and Prediction
- Updated: September 18, 2016

When: 7:30 pm Sunday
Where: U.S. Bank Stadium – Minneapolis, Minn.
TV: NBC
Series: Packers lead, 59-50-2
Line: Packers by 2 1/2
After losing at home to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17 last season, the Green Bay Packers would like nothing better than to spoil their rival’s first game in their new stadium.
Expect the Packers (1-0) offense to go up-tempo early to silence the loud and wild crowd and to jump on the scoreboard often. It won’t be easy, however, with the Vikings (1-0) possessing one of the best defenses in the NFL.
On the other side of the ball, the Packers defense will have to step up against the Vikings running game. Although Adrian Peterson struggled last week against the Tennessee Titans, he’s run all over the Packers in his career.
The Packers held Jacksonville to 48 rushing yards and less than two yards per attempt last week. Containing Peterson and forcing quarterback Sam Bradford to make plays with his arm is key if the Packers want to win.
Expect a tight contest that comes down to the wire with the Packers finding a way to leave Minnesota victorious.
Prediction: Packers 24, Vikings 20
