Packers vs. Vikings: Preview and Prediction

A miraculous comeback led by injured quarterback Aaron Rodgers pushed the Green Bay Packers past the Chicago Bears, 24-23, in Week 1. After the close call against the Bears, the Packers have a challenging test against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

The Vikings have a better overall roster than the Packers. They have the league’s top defense, talented skill players and a top-10 quarterback in the NFL. Minnesota has the makings of being a Super Bowl contender.

The Vikings’ defense held the San Francisco 49ers’ offense to 327 yards and forced four turnovers in Week 1. Quarterback Kirk Cousins was also effective in his first game with the Vikings, completing 20-of-36 pass attempts for 244 yards and two touchdowns.

Rodgers’ status for Sunday’s game is in question after not practicing all week with a left knee injury. Second-year quarterback DeShone Kizer would start if Rodgers can’t play. He threw for 55 yards and one interception against the Bears.

Regardless of if Rodgers plays, the Vikings will win this rivalry matchup led by a strong defensive performance.

Prediction: Vikings 27, Packers 17
