Milwaukee to release a statement regarding Arians

Austin Arians suffered a high ankle sprain two weeks prior to the Milwaukee Panthers exhibition contest against Platteville. He has remained out of game action for four weeks now, while head coach Rob Jeter has had to continually answer questions regarding when fans can expect to see the star forward back in a Panther uniform.

“We are probably going to make some sort of statement tomorrow,” Jeter said in his postgame press conference following the team’s defeat to IUPUI on Wednesday. “I think that would be the best way to do it. We will release a statement on how we will handle Austin over the rest of the season.”

It should be interesting to see what decision Jeter and Arians make, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Arians redshirting this season to preserve another year of eligibility.

Usually high ankle sprains take anywhere from four to six weeks to heal, meaning Arians could be out until Dec. 4. He would be back in time for the Wisconsin game, but it might be best for him and the future of the program to have him sit out the 2014-15 season.

Fans will find out what the final verdict is soon, and make sure to stay tuned to The3rdManIn.com for all the latest information surrounding this situation.
