The 3rd Man In

Kalamazoo here we come

After returning home for a game against Western Illinois, the Milwaukee Panthers are headed back on the road. This Sunday the Panthers will be in Kalamazoo to face the Broncos of Western Michigan. The Panthers (5-0-1) will look to keep their undefeated streak alive, while the Broncos look to get an impressive win at home.

The last time these two teams squared off was in 2011, with the Panthers winning easily by a score of 4-0. Not only did Milwaukee dominate Western Michigan in their last meeting, but over the course of the 16 games between each school, the Panthers own an impressive 11-3-2 record.

This season the Broncos have not had much luck either. They are 3-4, but their wins have come against Northern Kentucky, Eastern Illinois, and Canisius. Western Michigan has also struggled defensively allowing more goals (15) than they have scored (10). One bright spot for the Broncos has been freshman midfielder Matheau Rogers who leads the team with eight points on three goals and two assists.

The Panthers goal in this game will be to extend their undefeated streak, but the most important thing is that everyone stays injury free for their first Horizon League contest against Detroit on September 28th. Milwaukee has been playing outstanding soccer so far this season, and knows how to win against any opponent. While no game is easy on the road, expect the outcome to be like the last time these two teams squared off.
