Jason Kidd to the Milwaukee Bucks?

Change is in the air for the Milwaukee Bucks. In only a few months the Bucks have seen the franchise change hands with Wesley Edens and Marc Lasry buying the team for $550 million, while also receiving the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft and selecting Jabari Parker. Now the Bucks are making even more news with possible personal moves.

According to the New York Post, Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd has permission to talk with the Milwaukee Bucks after his request for additional responsibilities was turned down.

Edens and Lasry have made it know that they are interested in adding a president of basketball operations.

Kidd would presumably be speaking with ownership about this position as USA Today has reported that current general manager John Hammond was unaware of the Bucks request to speak with Kidd.

Prior to buying the Bucks with Edens, Lasry owned a stake of the Nets starting in 2004. Kidd played for the Nets from 2001-2008, and developed a good friendship with Lasry according to the Post.

After a 19-year NBA career, Kidd almost immediately following his retirement was hired to coach the Nets. In his first season on the bench he led Brooklyn to a 44-38 record, and reached the Eastern Conference semifinals before losing to the Miami Heat.

It should be interesting to see what happens with Kidd and the Bucks, but one thing is for sure Edens and Lasry are committed to winning. This is a new era of Bucks’ basketball, and already the new owners have started to rejuvenate the struggling franchise.
