The 3rd Man In

Great end to the regular season

After being embarrassed on their home court for Senior Night, the Milwaukee Panthers responded in a big way. Milwaukee had to close out their regular season with a tough game at Detroit, but thanks to a late 8-2 run, the Panthers were able to snap their three-game losing streak.

JeVon Lyle led the Panthers with a career high 20 points, as three Panther players scored in double figures.

Right away the Panthers set the tone jumping out to a 14-4 advantage, as Milwaukee held the momentum the entire night.

Even without Jordan Aaron the Panthers offense still clicked on all cylinders. They shot 55.3 percent (26-47) from the floor and 42.9 percent (6-14) from distance for the night. Milwaukee also outrebounded Detroit 34-28.

This was an excellent win, and somewhat surprising after they where blowout by UIC earlier in the week. The pressure was on them to win this game, but they came out and embraced the challenge, and now they will be rewarded for their victory.

With this win the Panthers clinched the number five seed in the conference tournament, and will face either Detroit or Youngstown State on Tuesday at the U.S. Cellular Arena.

Even though this tournament game will be at home with Aaron returning from suspension, it will not be an easy matchup. Lately the Panthers have had little energy while committing too many mistakes. As long as they play like they did against Detroit tonight, they will have a chance of moving on in the tournament.
